The meal was very good, kudos to the 2 cooks and our waiter that went back to lend a hand to keep it going. Equipment behind the counter and glass betqeen booths werent very clean. I felt the establishment could use some cleaning. They had ALOT to do to keep pace and they did it well and stayed pleasant while doing so. The restaruant was lucky to have a great young man and women working breakfast today. Seems they were having issues with other items as well. Go to walmart and buy some #10 cans and refill the labeled bottles. But it is up to the manager to handle this. Now I know these chains have to use the chain labeled bottles. I overheard them saying they were doing this yesterday as well. They were trying to put small amounts in various containers at different tables. What is not right is why they faced some of their challanges. Our meal did take a long time to come out but we realize staffing is difficult right now. The staff was great, they made the best of a poorly run diner. We’ll be visiting both businesses again when we pass through again, Thank you Black Bear Diner, and Walmart, And Wonderful town of Williams …. as for the Super Walmart they were wonderful, we felt very safe, was convenient getting in and out, lots of parking( had quite a few truckers sleeping as well as Motorhomes / Travel Trailers. The Host/ Waiter/(I think he may have been an manager) was very friendly, courteous, timelyĪnd there was a Waitress / Hostess, that was running her legs off ( but she was “On it” ) …Just a “Well Oiled Machine”, this place as I said earlier was very clean, food was great, people were great, if we lived closer, we would be daily or weekly regulars (were about 400 miles from home on the Central Ca Coast ), We only saw One cook in the kitchen and he was just as effective as the front staff, had a fairly good amount of folks in for breakfast and they were all being cared for. Omelette w/ Spinach/Mushrooms/Cheese/ Fresh Fruit, another great cup of coffee, and some of the best Fresh Squeezed Orange These folks were so very nice and patient, very helpful, ( I know your waiting -what about the food ) ! My wife had an Oatmeal and a Biscuit, coffee ( was really good), I had An had a sign out front looking for help), but you sure wouldn’t know by the timely, courteous service we received. On our Maiden Voyage with our new travel Trailer, first night boon docked at the Super Walmart a few miles away, then wanting a comfort breakfast, we went into one of the Cleanest restaurants we’ve seen in a long time. ![]() I hope they can change the atmosphere here! More Clearly not a team after 35 minutes with no food and no coffee refill or even a little communication. When you have a struggle of any kind, the team cannot stay in their proverbial corner and not step up for a while to help each other. Yes, they may have been short staffed but a little sense of urgency goes a long way. Someone either needs to provide some leadership, clean house with the staff, or retrain these folks. Looked like the cook was making one order at a time as well, which added to the poor service. I walked out, offered to pay for coffee but they said I didn’t need to. The group struck me as a crew that’s either given up or doesn’t give a rip anymore for some reason. The blond waitress would make the excuse that it’s low staff, or the guy behind the counter is winding down ( even thought he was winding down for 40 minutes before I even brought it up). coffee came out then it was gone, no offer of refill while I waited. ![]() You can tell staff don’t give a rip, complain openly about staffing and when you approach them it’s all excuses and no solutions. Wow! I’ve been a Black Bear Diner fan for years, not sure anymore at least at this location. ![]()
